Your Privacy, Our Top Priority
* This page addresses the privacy and security design of Roborock robotic vacuum products. Actual practices may vary by product model. Please refer to the product manual for details. Last updated: January 2026.
Our Commitment to Privacy

Roborock follows strict global data privacy standards, safeguarding your personal information at every step.

  • Your Data Is Yours

Nothing is collected or uploaded without your explicit permission or as otherwise provided by laws. You decide what to share, and you can update your settings anytime.

  • Your Data Is Kept Minimal

We only collect and store the information essential for your robot to function. Your data is protected at every step. Check the Roborock App for details on what is collected. ¹

  • Your Data Stays Safe

Roborock operates independent data centers across Asia, Europe and North America. User data is processed and securely stored in data centers based on your registered region, ensuring safer and more efficient service delivery.

Safe by Design
Built on Secure Hardware

All software on your robot is verified and trusted.

Built on Secure Hardware

Every Roborock is powered by a high-security System on Chip (SoC) that serves as the robot’s trusted foundation. With a built-in, tamper-resistant certificate, your robot verifies the authenticity of the software before it runs—like a digital vault protecting your system.

A System That Closes Doors

Fewer exposure points reduce opportunities for potential attacks.

A System That Closes Doors

Our system follows the principle of minimal exposure: physical connections are locked down, software connections open only when needed, and temporary connections close automatically after use. This reduces vulnerabilities and strengthens overall security.

Proven Encryption with a Random Generation Algorithm

Advanced encryption keeps your robot’s identity and data uniquely secure.

Proven Encryption with a Random Generation Algorithm

Roborock follows the latest encryption standards set by the EU SOG-IS Crypto Working Group. Each identity, certificate, and key is unique, virtually impossible to forge, and keeps your device and data securely sealed.

Protected Communication Under Protocol

Your data travels safely, protected from interception or leaks.

Protected Communication Under Protocol

All communication with your robot is protected by industry-standard encryption, including TLS protocol. Certificates are rigorously verified to help prevent man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks, where a third party attempts to intercept or alter data during transmission, ensuring transmissions remain private.

Obstacle Photo

Encrypted Storage

When obstacles are detected, the photo is saved on the robot in an encrypted format rather than as a standard image file. This protects identifiable details and prevents direct access.

Private Photo Viewing

When you view an image in the Roborock App, the encrypted file is sent to your phone using end-to-end TLS encryption. The cloud acts only as a temporary communication channel and does not store the image. Photos are processed in real time and automatically removed from your phone’s cache once you close them.

"Hello Rocky"

Built-In Offline Voice Recognition

The voice recognition model is fully integrated into the robot, enabling offline voice control even without Wi-Fi. All voice data is processed on-device, keeping it local and secure.

Internal Data Training

The voice model is trained exclusively on data collected in our labs, ensuring effective learning without using personal user data. This approach keeps your information private while enhancing the robot’s voice recognition.

Video Calls

Two-Step Activation

The feature is off by default and requires physical confirmation to activate. To enable it, first turn on the option in the app, then press the physical button on the robot as prompted. This two-step process ensures the feature cannot be switched on accidentally or remotely without your consent.

Gesture Password Verification

Every video call requires a gesture password in the app, which the robot verifies before connecting. This two-step verification ensures that only authorized users can initiate a call, adding an extra layer of privacy protection.

End-to-End Encryption

Video and audio data from your robot to the app is protected with end-to-end encryption. This keeps your live video private and minimizes the risk of interception during transmission.

Instant Data Deletion After Use

Once the call ends, the real-time video stream is immediately cleared, leaving no video data stored on the robot or in the app. Each session begins and ends with a clean slate.

Pet Snap & Pet Search

On-Demand Activation

When activated, the feature works only when pets are detected, so your robot captures images only as needed. Photos are encrypted and stored locally on the device, with only the most recent image kept for recognition. Turning off the feature automatically deletes any stored photos, giving you full control and peace of mind.

AI Obstacle Recognition

Internal Data Training

Roborock's AI training uses only data from simulated home environment, not real users.

On-Device Intelligence

All AI computations are performed on-device, with no data sent to the cloud or shared with third parties, ensuring your information remains completely private.

Third-Party Voice Assistants

Protocol-Protected Communication

Communication between the robot and third-party voice assistants is fully encrypted using industry-standard security protocols. Only the voice command related data is transmitted—no images, audio recordings, maps, or other relatively sensitive data are ever shared.

Roborock products are built with strict data-security standards from the start. Each model follows a dedicated protection plan, reviewed during validation and tested by independent security experts to ensure safety and reliability.

FAQ
  • Q: Does my robot record audio or video?

No. Roborock vacuums do not record audio or video. Even when using voice control, the microphone only captures your command and processes it directly on the device—no voice data is stored. During real-time Video Call, video and audio data are encrypted and transmitted securely to your app for live viewing only. Neither the device, cloud, nor app stores this information.

  • Q: Can I disable the camera and microphone?

Yes. You can disable the "Hello Rocky" built-in voice assistant and AI obstacle recognition related features. Once turned off, the camera and microphone remain inactive.

  • Q: How does Roborock protect the camera from unauthorized remote access?

Roborock applies multiple layers of protection for camera security:
    - Physical activation: The video feature is off by default and can only be activated by pressing a physical button on the robot—ensuring no one without access can turn it on.
    - Password protection: Each video session requires a gesture password entered through the app, verified by the robot before any connection is made.
    - End-to-end encryption: Video streams use Secure RTP (SRTP) over DTLS, providing dual encryption for both content and transmission channels to ensure complete end-to-end security.

  • Q: What data does Roborock collect, and how is it used?

Roborock only collects the data necessary to provide and improve your robot’s functionality. This includes map data, device status, and anonymized usage information. All personal data is stored securely, often locally, and processed according to strict privacy standards. Check [Privacy Policy] for more details.

  • Q: Who can access my data?

Only you and authorized applications can access your personal data, and all are bound by strict confidentiality and data‑protection obligations to ensure its security. Roborock collects only the minimal data necessary and does not share it with any other parties. Check [Privacy Policy] for more details.

  • Q: Who will my data be shared with?

Roborock does not share personal data with third parties except where required by law or with your explicit consent. Check [Privacy Policy] for more details.
